	Definition:		This is the science which describes quantitatively the uptake of drugs by the body, their biotransformation, their distribution, metabolism, and elimination from the body. Both total amounts and tissue and organ concentrations are considered. "Toxicokinetics" is essentially the same term applied to metabolically active chemicals other than drugs. A subfield of toxicology that studies how toxins are absorbed by, metabolized by, and eliminated from the bodies of living things.
